Discover Cary and Learn Why You Should Move Here

Cary may technically be a town, but it has a city vibe. Therefore, you get to experience all the best of town life -- with a close-knit community and amenities that are easy to reach -- while also experiencing  all the best of city life, with plenty of opportunities for recreation. Cary is a primary bedroom community for Raleigh, and it is located just off Interstates 40 and 440, two major thoroughfares for the Triangle.  Here's what you need to know about what makes Cary so special and why you might want to consider investing in Cary real estate:

For its size, Cary is actually the safest town in America. Among cities and towns with a population of between 100,000 and 150,000, Cary had the lowest crime rate in the country in 2013, according to data provided by the FBI.
Cary consistently lands on regional and national lists for its low crime rate and overall safety.

Cary's public school system ranks as one of the best, and the town is within minutes of dozens of universities, colleges, community colleges and technical schools. Approximately 60 percent of the town's residents have a bachelor's degree or higher -- double the national percentage -- so education is a focus here.

Health and Recreation

Cary is part of the Wake Med and Rex Healthcare systems. It also hosts many opportunities for residents to enjoy outdoor recreation to remain healthy. For example, Cary has 70 miles of trails and pathways for walking, hiking and biking, and it is home to the Stevens Nature Center, located at the Hemlock Bluffs Nature Preserve. It is also expanding bike lanes throughout town.

Cary is an amateur sports Mecca. It is considered an NCAA Championship City (even if not technically a city), and is home to the USA Baseball National Training Complex, Cary Tennis Park and WakeMed Soccer Park. The town hosts numerous sports championships throughout the year.
Those not interested in sports can head over to the Booth Ampitheatre for concerts from big name touring acts, the North Carolina Symphony and more. The ampitheatre also hosts and outdoor movie series in the summer.

Housing costs in Cary are a bit higher than for its neighbor, Raleigh. The housing in Cary is a bit higher-end, so the higher price is justified. The median sales price for homes in Cary was $259,250 in the last quarter of 2014, which was a slight decrease over the previous year. Because prices for Cary homes are slightly down, it is a perfect time to invest in Cary real estate. The community will continue to see long-term gains since the population is exploding and the town is growing. You can buy now and sell big later.
Consider shopping for homes for sale in Cary and learn more about what this wonderful community offers.
